Meters

An easy way to find out your Zone is to look on your Aqua WSC monthly bill. The first two (2) digits of your account number is your Zone number.

Example: Account #02-023456-07, is located in Zone 2. If the second digit is a 4, then the account is located in Zone 4.

We currently have two different types of meters in our system, Analog and AMI Smart Meter. Analog faces have a dial and AMI Smart Meter faces are digital.

How to Read Analog:

The meter registers every gallon which flows through it. The meter dial records every 10 gallons that passes through. This is the reason for the stationary zero on the end of the meter register. You read your meter from left to right and include all zeros.

If there is a leak on the property owner’s side of the meter, the dial will be spinning. If it is on Aqua WSC’s side, it will not be spinning.

How to Read AMI Smart Meters:

If a leak is occurring on your side of the meter, a small arrow pointing in the forward direction will appear in the top middle box. If there is not an arrow and you suspect a leak, call us at 512-303-3943.

Water Issues/Operations

If you are experiencing low water pressure and believe it is a leak or emergency, call our office and emergency line at 512-303-3943. If a staff member does not answer on the first call, it is more than likely that they are on the phone with another member. Please leave a message and a staff member will return your call as soon as possible.

This is most likely due to sediment stirred up during routine line flushing or a recent repair to an Aqua WSC water line in your area.

The discoloration is typically temporary — just run your cold water tap for a few minutes and it should clear up. If it doesn’t, feel free to give us a call at 512-303-3943.

Development

Once the Feasibility Study Application has been completed and the fee has been paid, the estimated turnaround time for the Feasibility Study is 60 days. For further questions regarding the Feasibility Study process, please email our Development Services department at development@aquawsc.com or call 512-304-0380.

Depending on which Emergency Services District (ESD) your property falls within, and the nature of your development, you may be required to have fire flow at the property. If you are requesting a feasibility study, we recommend that you reach out to your local emergency services district (ESD) to confirm the fire flow requirements for your development. Each ESD has their own requirements, and it is the responsibility of the developer to provide the fire flow requirement to Aqua WSC prior to performing the feasibility study.

Flow testing is not recommended as a means to confirm available fire flow. Aqua WSC will complete a hydrological model assessment, or fire flow study, as a means to determine if fire flow is available for a development. The fire flow study is more effective than a physical flow test because it accounts for future developments and committed demands that may not yet be drawing water, providing a more comprehensive assessment of long-term system capacity.

Attendance is not mandatory, but you’re welcome to attend or have a representative present.

Revisions must be resubmitted and reapproved through Aqua WSC’s review process.

Aqua WSC’s Engineering Manager, with legal review by Aqua WSC’s attorney.

Aqua WSC will determine this during the Feasibility Study phase. If your property lacks direct access to Aqua WSC’s distribution system, an Approach Main will be required.

No. Aqua WSC is responsible for acquiring all necessary easements for Approach Mains.

After final construction approvals and reconciliation of project fees. For subdivisions, individual lot owners may apply directly once infrastructure is accepted by Aqua WSC.

Capacity is not reserved until the Nonstandard Water Service Agreement is executed and fees are paid. Delays may risk the availability of water service.

Please email development@aquawsc.com. This is the preferred point of contact for all questions, status updates, or document issues.

Legal and feasibility study deposits are non-refundable. However, excess funds from construction-related deposits may be refunded after final reconciliation.

General Aqua WSC Questions

Our water comes from a groundwater source known as the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. The Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer is a large underground water supply in Texas that provides water to over 60 counties and about 12 million homes. It stretches from the Rio Grande in south Texas to parts of Louisiana and Arkansas and is made up of sand, gravel, silt, clay, and lignite layers up to 10,000 feet thick. The aquifer is recharged by rainfall and streams that cross the outcrop.

Yes. When it comes to the Move Over Law, most motorists know to move over a lane or slow down 20 mph below the speed limit when passing stopped law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical vehicles on the side of the road. The law has been expanded to include utility vehicles that are stationary with flashing amber or blue lights.
